It's like we're playing a game of monopoly. A game were everyone fools each other to pass through "Go!" as many times as possible; the lenders fool the homeowners, the homeowners fool the investment bankers, and the investment bankers fool the investors.
The 2008 financial crisis situation was very similar to this. The lenders, investment bankers, and investors, didn't think of anything or anyone but themselves and the money they could make. They thought they were that "one raindrop", and didn't stop to consider that their impact could cause a financial thunderstorm.
The least one would expect after such a crisis is for those who caused it to be held responsible. But remember, we're living in a world where the rich get richer, and the poor get poorer. A world where many times, money buys power. Where it's hard to overrule the rich, and even harder to hold them responsible.
