Now I'm not going to lie, these cupcakes definitely required a lot of experimenting, so frosting just 6 of them took me over an hour and a half--that's what happens when you're a perfectionist. Nonetheless, I must admit that I'm pretty proud of them. You see, I'm one of those completely unskilled and inept people when it comes to art. I can't even draw a nice stick figure, so how I made a snowman? I really don't know!
It was actually kind of funny. When I was done with the cupcakes, my friends Axelle and Gabriel Barreto (a 16 year old professional photographer) came to my house to take pictures of the cupcakes for advertising. When Axelle saw them for the first time she just stayed staring at them. "Ax what's wrong" I asked her. "Gisella" she said, with her Dutch accent, "I don't understand, have you seen your handwriting and drawings, you're not artistic! How did you make that?!". I laughed at that for hours because it was completely true. But I guess there's a difference between being an artistic baker and an actual artist.
