Many people, including myself, believe that "if we work harder we'll be more successful, and if we're more successful than we'll be happier.
At school, I often have the mindset that getting a 7/7 in class is the only way to feel truly satisfied because it means that I have achieved success. Shawn Anchor made me realize through his TED talk, "The happy secret to better work", that our success shouldn't lead to our happiness, our happiness should lead to our success.
Being positive allows us to work better, faster, more efficiently, and thus, more successfully. We must learn to let our happiness inspire us to succeed rather depending on our success to inspire us.
By linking our success with happiness, we are automatically setting a goal post for happiness. And every time we are more successful, we are moving that goal post over, making it even harder for us to feel happy.
If we change our outlook of happiness and success, making happiness be the drive for our success, the world would be filled of more positive individuals.
Individuals with the capacity to imagine, create, and succeed.
In class, we also talked about how stories are the best way to retain information; whether you are 5 or 70 years old, everyones loves a good story. Therefore, instead of making weekly videos to provide news to our community, we are providing news through stories.
Before we could share other people's stories, however, we felt that we had to share our own --> The Innovation Academies story. So today in class, we focused on creating the first "Story Time" video that would be launched this coming Friday!
